Performance Manager gives telecom administrators real-time and continuous visibility into the heath-and-status of their voice circuit infrastructure and the quality of their voice calls from a single, unified console. Monitoring across any multi-vendor mix of PBX or IP-PBX platforms provides a consolidated view into the QoS/performance of all TDM and VoIP calls.

Performance Manager supports real-time notification of telecom error events or call quality issues impacting service quality or availability, along with troubleshooting tools that aid in remote error diagnosis and resolution.
  Performance Manager delivers:
•  “Carrier grade” monitoring capabilities scaled and priced for the enterprise
•  Proactive service quality and availability notification before complaint calls begin
•  Continuous, 24X7 surveillance
•  A troubleshooting tool kit to quickly identify and resolve errors and reduce “finger-pointing”
•  Visibility into error source (e.g. carrier/CO side, CPE side, PBX line card, LAN)
•  Bandwidth management tools to control appropriate use of VoIP services
•  A real-time call monitor displaying all active inbound and outbound traffic

More about the ETM® Performance Manager
The real-time Performance Manager console provides up to the minute alerting on any QoS event or change in operational status of the network, and any violations of established voice network usage policies. Real-time notifications of telecom errors or network usage violations can be delivered via desktop console, email, pager or SNMP trap.

PBX and media-independent monitoring provides a consolidated, comprehensive view of voice service performance across any enterprise hybrid network mix of multi-vendors systems, trunking protocols, and TDM/VoIP media types found in today’s converging networks.

VoIP calls are monitored for expected packet rates, packet delay, jitter, packet loss, and actual bandwidth usage. VoIP call quality thresholds can be established for packet loss and jitter for any codec type to alert you when network performance degrades below acceptable levels.

When call quality or performance issues arise, telecom managers can launch integrated troubleshooting tools to help them remotely diagnose and resolve the problem. These tools also provide real-time visibility into the CO side and CPE side of the trunks, enabling telecom managers to proactively monitor provider SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and isolate error conditions originating or residing in the carrier side of the network. These point-of-failure determination tools greatly reduce costly and time-consuming finger-pointing conflicts between telecom and IT administrators, and their service and PBX providers.

Additional VoIP troubleshooting tools provide data network call tracing, routing, and packet capture features that provide visibility into the behavior and performance of VoIP traffic across the network.

VoIP bandwidth management capabilities monitor and control the various codecs used on VoIP calls to help assure effective use of network bandwidth for service quality and availability. Unauthorized codecs can represent potential security vulnerabilities, and excessive use of high-bandwidth codecs (such as video) can create service quality/availability issues for all voice network users.

Performance Manager also provides a real-time call monitor that displays all active calls across the enterprise, and enables manual termination of unauthorized, threatening, or suspect calls.
