Harassing, Threatening or Restricted Calls

Private corporate voice networks are generally open to accept calls from any source, no matter the intent of the call. Malicious, disruptive or unwanted calls can interfere with corporate operations and increase expenses. Restricting and/or redirecting the flow of these calls can reduce corporate risk and financial losses and increase productivity and revenues. Examples include:

Harassing Calls
Harassing or unwanted calls can threaten employee productivity and morale, and interfere with business operations.
Bomb Threats
Bomb threats can have a substantial impact on business operations and revenues, particularly when retail locations are forced to close due to mandatory evacuations. Bomb threats are often delivered over phone lines, due to the caller´s assumption that their anonymity can be maintained.
Fax Spam
Unwanted fax spam can be a large and unnecessary expense. According to the California Safety Training Corporation (CSTC), it costs approximately 30 cents to receive a single fax when you consider the cost of the fax machine, power, telephone line and connection fees, paper and toner replacements, and labor, so fax spam can cost the smallest business an average of $3,000 per year.
Caller ID (CLID) Restricted Calls
Callers engaged in unwanted solicitations or other disruptive activities—including harassing callers targeting executive phone extensions—often mask their identity by restricting their caller ID.
Calls From Restricted Numbers
Calls to or from certain restricted numbers or countries often need to be restricted for security, legal or business reasons.

The SecureLogix® ETM® Voice Firewall and Call Recorder can reduce corporate expenses by alerting, blocking, redirecting, or recording bomb threats, calls to/from restricted locations or callers, and other forms of harassing, threatening, and CLID restricted calls through unified security policy enforcement across the enterprise. The ETM Call Recorder is a very effective bomb threat deterrent, criminal identification solution, and prosecution tool.
